Now, when a meeting organizer or co-organizer deletes the transcript in the Microsoft Teams app, this will delete both copies of the transcript (from OneDrive for Business and Exchange Online) at the same time. If the meeting organizer deletes the transcript from Stream, only the copy in OneDrive for Business will be deleted. At a later date to be announced, meeting transcripts will stop saving in Exchange Online altogether and all transcript storage will be standardized on OneDrive for Business.

Items with multiple changes

  • Outlook: Stream videos can now be watched inline in Outlook

We’re introducing the ability to watch Stream videos inline in Outlook on the web and the new Outlook for Windows. Soon, if someone pastes a Stream video link in a supported Outlook app  and sends it to you, you will be able to watch it directly in your inbox. The videos will play inline for recipients within the same organization, meaning you will not have to leave Outlook to watch the video. Recipients outside the organization, and those not using the new Outlook or web, will see a link to the video which they can watch in the Stream web app (depending on the organization’s file sharing settings). Note: We have updated the Release Phase to show the current state. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • Microsoft Teams: View, download and delete OneDrive transcript files in TeamsMicrosoft Teams: Improvements to the view, download, and delete experience of Teams meeting transcript files

We are simplifying the storage and management of meeting transcript files by focusing transcript actions such as view, download, and delete to source from one place (OneDrive for Business) instead of two places (OneDrive for Business and Exchange Online). We are streamlining the storage of meeting transcript files. Starting with this feature, all meeting transcript entry points in Teams app will point to the OneDrive for Business copy only. The rollout of this feature also improves the delete experience of the transcript for meeting organizers.
