  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management - Enable associated SharePoint sites to be excluded from retention policies after deletion of Modern Group

If a modern M365 group is deleted, the associated SharePoint has a retention policy, a file with a retention label, or a legal hold, it remains active but orphaned. These sites cannot be excluded from the retention policy after the deletion of the group because of designed modern group scope. The site-level holds are applied when a group is added to a retention policy and the Tenant-level holds are applied when the complete modern group workload is added to a retention policy. Currently, to remove such a hold, the customer has to raise an escalation. With the rollout of this feature, users will be able to exclude the orphaned SPO site from both site-level holds and tenant-level holds as a self-service.

  • Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management - Risky AI usage

With this update, Insider risk management will help admins identify risky AI usage. We are adding new detections of intentional and unintentional insider risk activity on generative AI apps that can pose a risk to an organization. Activities will include risky prompts containing sensitive info or risky intent and sensitive responses containing sensitive info or is generated from sensitive files or sites. Coverage will span across Microsoft Copilots and 3P generative AI apps. These detections will also contribute to Adaptive Protection insider risk levels. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Customers interested in applying to join the private preview may submit an application via the URL associated with this roadmap item. We expect the dashboard to enter general availability in June. The metrics on this dashboard are divided into the following sections: First, the Lifetime Video report contains 3 metrics for videos on the SharePoint site—Total Views, Unique Viewers, and Average Watch Rate. Second, Video Traffic report shows views and viewer patterns across the last 7 days, 30 days, and 90 days. Third, Video Usage shows views by device and geolocation. Fourth, Top 20 Videos shows a list of the most popular videos on the SharePoint site in the last week. Note: To better align our features with customer needs, the Microsoft Stream advanced video analytics feature has been canceled to prioritize other key areas of development.More info: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbRxtVxJyO0BFOoG0pvqGnDONUM0dCQU9LMkpUUkkwWU9FR0NORUVNTExJSy4u

Introducing a new control for IT administrators to restrict permissions for the download of meeting transcript files (stored in OneDrive for Business) for any users within the tenant. This policy applies to new meeting transcripts across the entire organization. Administrators can exempt people who are members of specified security groups from the policy. This allows admins to specify governance or compliance specialists who should have download access to meeting transcripts. We are also updating the default permissions so that even when the policy is not applied only transcript owners (recording initiator or meeting organizer) will have permission to download or delete the transcript file, while meeting participants can only view the transcript in Teams app or Stream. In addition to the tenant-wide policy for download permission, the meeting organizer will be able to select in Stream which participants are restricted from downloading, viewing, and editing the transcript in Stream.

Now, when a meeting organizer or co-organizer deletes the transcript in the Microsoft Teams app, this will delete both copies of the transcript (from OneDrive for Business and Exchange Online) at the same time. If the meeting organizer deletes the transcript from Stream, only the copy in OneDrive for Business will be deleted. • Outlook: Schedule from email with Copilot

Often you may want to transition a conversation from an email thread to a meeting. Copilot helps you do this by being able to start scheduling right from the email conversation. It saves you time and effort by generating a meeting invite that's ready for you to review and send. When you click on "Schedule with Copilot" a meeting form will appear with a Copilot generated meeting title, agenda, and conversation summary as well as a pre-filled attendee list from the email thread and an attachment of the original email thread. This feature will be available in the new Outlook for Windows, web, Mac, and mobile.

  • Microsoft Viva: Viva Engage - Copilot Adoption Community

We are introducing new capabilities in Engage that will help organizations with their M365 Copilot rollout and adoption journey by bringing together employees in a community of practice. This community will provide a place for employees to ask questions, seek support from both their peers and IT admins, share best practices, and learn more from articles and quick tips on how best to use Copilot. This templatized Copilot adoption community will take away much of the work from the community manager with a set-up checklist, suggested content, suggested members (based on Copilot license assignment), and other features like conversation starters and top Q&As to help with community member engagement.
